Als Absolvent der Juilliard School ist Wei-En HSU ein versierter Pianist, Organist, Dirigent, Korrepetitor und Komponist. Heute ist er Associate Professor an der Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Der gebürtige Taiwaner erhielt seinen Bachelor-Abschluss in Klavier an der Taipei National University of the Arts und freute sich, als einziger Kandidat an der Juilliard School als Austauschstudent an die Royal Academy of Music in London ausgewählt zu werden. Er bekam eine zusätzliche Ausbildung am College-Conservatory of Music, der University of Cincinnati und der Rutgers University.

Herr Hsu ist Gewinner zahlreicher Auszeichnungen, darunter des Los Angeles International Liszt Piano Competition 2010, des Scott Huxley Piano Accompaniment Prize, des Major Van Someren-Godfery Prize Accompaniment Award (2004), des Ludmilla Andrew Russian Song Prize Accompaniment Award und des Sir Arthur Bliss Preis, Distinction Performance Award von RAM (2005) und Sing for Hope Grant for Arts Activism and Community Outreach (2009). Herr Hsu gab im März 2008 sein Debütkonzert in der Weill Recital Hall der Carnegie Hall.

Er wurde beim SongFest 2009 zum Stern Fellow ernannt. Während der Saison 2009–2010 trat Herr Hsu als Pianist/Trainer/Dirigent der Opera Company of Brooklyn Resident Artists bei. Beim SongFest 2010 und 2011 fungierte er als Gesangslehrer. Er ist Gründer/Musikdirektor der Pocket Opera of New York, Geschäftsführer des Metropolitan International Music Festival und künstlerischer Leiter von More Than Musical (HK). 2013 und 2017 wurde er zum offiziellen Pianisten der Renee Fleming Masterclass in Hongkong sowie des Hong Kong International Operatic Singing Competition 2018 ernannt. Im Jahr 2018 wurde er zum NTCH Artist in Residence 2018 in Taiwan ernannt.

Für seinen Beitrag zur Musikprofession und -gesellschaft wurde er 2017 zum Associate Fellow der Royal Academy of Music (ARAM), zum Fellow der Guild of Musicians and Singers (FGMS) und zum Associate Fellow des National College of Music (AFNCollM) gewählt, ferner zum Fellow der Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), Fellow der Fraternity of St Cecilia (FFSC, Großbritannien), Fellow der Western Orthodox University (FWOU), Fellow der European-American University (FEAU¸USA), Officier Académicien of Mondial Art Academia und der Circle Foundation for the Arts (CFA, Frankreich) Affiliate Artist im Jahr 2020. Wei-En Hsu is an accomplished pianist, organist, conductor, répétiteur and composer.  He is now an Associate Professor at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.  A native of Taiwan, he received his BFA degree in Piano at Taipei National University of the Arts, and was pleased to be the only candidate at Juilliard selected to Royal Academy of Music, London as an exchange student.  Additional training at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, and Rutgers University.

Mr. Hsu is the winner of many awards, including the 2010 Los Angeles International Liszt Piano Competition, the Scott Huxley Piano Accompaniment Prize, Major Van Someren-Godfery Prize Accompaniment Award (2004), Ludmilla Andrew Russian Song Prize Accompaniment Award, Sir Arthur Bliss Prize, Distinction Performance Award from RAM (2005), and Sing for Hope Grant for Arts Activism and Community Outreach (2009).  Mr. Hsu made his debut recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in March 2008. 

He was named the Stern Fellow in SongFest 2009.  During the season 2009-2010, Mr. Hsu joined the Opera Company of Brooklyn Resident Artists as a pianist/coach/conductor.  He has served as a vocal coaching faculty in SongFest 2010 and 2011.  He is the Founder/Music Director for Pocket Opera of New York, the Executive Director for Metropolitan International Music Festival, and the Artistic Director for More Than Musical (HK).  In 2013 and 2017, he was appointed the official pianist in the Renee Fleming Masterclass in Hong Kong, as well as in the 2018 Hong Kong International Operatic Singing Competition. 
In 2018, he was named the 2018 NTCH Artist in Residence in Taiwan.
