Nach ihrer Rückkehr nach Taiwan, begann ihre Tätigkeit als Vollzeitdozentin in der Musikabteilung der Universität Taipeh. Seit August 2010 ist sie Dozentin am Fachbereich Musik der National Taiwan Normal University. Ihre Kompositionen umfassen verschiedene Gattungen wie Solo, Chor, Kammermusik und Orchester.

Professor Ching-Yu HSIAU was born in Taichung, Taiwan. After completing her Bachelor of Music degree from the National Taiwan Normal University in 1989, she was awarded a substantial Taiwan Governmental Scholarship to study in France over four years, majoring in musical composition. In 1993 she received the prestigious Diplôme Supérieur de Composition from Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris under the advisory of Maestro Yoshihisa Taira. Among the four candidates pursuing the program of Ecriture du 20ème Siècle (supervised by Edith Lejet) at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, she was the only one awarded the First Prize in 1994. Upon returning to Taiwan, her full-time faculty appointment started with the Department of Music, University of Taipei. Since August 2010 she is on the faculty at the Department of Music, National Taiwan Normal University. Her composition encompasses various genres for solo, choral, chamber and orchestra.
