On June 1, 2024, the enchanting sounds of tango filled Ulm Stadthaus in Germany. The Taiwanese music ensemble “Taiwan x Tango x Cinema” received a rapturous response, with applause lasting several minutes.

The ensemble featured bandoneonist and composer Ruei-Ran Wu, pianist Kuan-Han Wu, violinist Richard Lee, cellist Mon-Puo Lee, and guest mezzo-soprano I-Chiao Shih from Theater Ulm. Their repertoire included Piazzolla's “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires,” Ruei-Ran Wu's “When Love Comes,” and classic film scores.

Ruei-Ran Wu’s bandoneon and storytelling wove the background of each piece, with Richard Lee's powerful violin, Mon-Puo Lee's emotive cello, and Kuan-Han Wu's thoughtful piano. The audience, including Taiwanese community members and locals, responded enthusiastically, singing along and giving a standing ovation despite heavy rain.

Hosted by the Hohaiyan Arts Association, the event featured a unique tea service by Deerland Tea and Pingtung-produced Fu Wan chocolate during intermission. The ensemble, all of Taiwanese descent, highlighted Taiwan's cultural heritage and musical talent, demonstrating how music transcends boundaries.
